THE LAUNCH

With the notice handed in at work, last week was time for Jonny and I to put Spoon into action and prepare for our debut at Barnes food fair.

To say the build up wasn’t stressful would be a lie, but everything came together in the end and thanks to only a very small drizzle of rain and some extremely helpful friends and family members, we did it!

Thanks to everyone that came to try our cereal. News of where you can find us next is coming soon.

PHOTOSHOOT

For every food business, the product is the most important thing to get right, which is why we've spent many a days cooped up in Jonny's one bedroom flat making our way through all kinds of muesli and granola recipes.

There's a minefield of muesli ingredients out there. That's the beauty of muesli, there's no one definitive recipe and everyone has their preferences. So it became very difficult for us to pin down our first menu in which to take to the public.

To make life easy, our menu operates in three quick steps. This will enable us to experiment with lots of different seasonal, healthy, and slightly more indulgent recipes without having the unwanted stress of deciding what to have in the morning.

Our first menu:

Step 1: Choose your base - gluten free, classic muesli, Tor's granola

Step 2: Bulk it up - Fruit & nut, seeded batch, popcorn deluxe

Step 3 : Top it off - Blueberry & amaretti biscuit compote, Rhubarb, ginger & pistacio nut compote, peanut butter yogurt, banana and chocolate drops.

Thank you to Hugh Johnston, a fantastic food photographer and his assistant Dave who produced these lovely photographs for us. Check out Hugh’s website and blog http://www.hughjohnson.co.uk/
